Wilimee 'Granite' Pinot Noir 2023

I was recently tipped into the Wilimee wines from someone in the industry down in Vic and I am very thankful for it! These are great wines with a great ethos behind them. Chardonnay and Pinot are what is planted on the estate, and in small quantities. Farming is organic and thoughtful, with biodiversity in the vineyard and soil health below the surface of key importance to winemaker Ben Ranken.

As is the case with the Chardonnay, yields are similarly low here, resulting in a concentrated wine with great depth of flavour. Elegance is maintained, and on top of the red fruit flavours there is a lovely wash of botanicals, akin to Campari and the like. Lovers of the likes of Bindi and Joshua Cooper will find a lot to like here. – Ches Cook, Five Way Cellars.
