Wantirna 'Lily' Pinot Noir 2021
$100
Sold out at the winery.
There's only five barrels made, so about 250 six packs.
Poached strawberry, cherry, a musky and rosy perfume, spicy woody top notes, slightly bloody/earthy too. It's medium-bodied, but it?s also a firm and savoury wine, a little orange peel in with cedar and rhubarb, and I like the way the tannin is etched through - you can really feel it - and there's a firm toasty finish of excellent length. It's typical house/vineyard style here, though maybe a little more finely wrought than is usual. Very good. A few more years cellaring would be ideal.
