Rob Hall Pinot Noir 2025

After 10 years as winemaker for esteemed Mount Mary vineyard and then Kellybrook for 3 years. Rob Hall has been making wine solo in his native Yarra Valley since 2014. Rob sources his premium fruit from three separate vineyards around the Yarra Valley, all chosen for their distinct characteristics which you can see in the concentration of flavour’s in his wines.

Beautifully perfumed, as all good Pinot Noir should be, it's enticing with aromas of morello cherry, macerated strawberries layered with an array of baking spices. Plush upfront fruit is counterbalanced with refreshing acidity and a lick of very fine, silty tannin. It finishes savoury, begging you to reach for the glass again. Pinot Noir from five vineyards went into this wine in 2025, Harriet’s Vineyard, Full Moon, Boat O’Craigo, Nenagh Park and Yarrawalla. 2025 was a low cropping vintage in the Yarra. After a wet spring, summer came good with good slow ripening days, resulting in lovely aromatics and intensity. Extended time on skins has built some lovely texture.

The resulting wine has aromas of sour cherry, rhubarb and floral notes, with hints of herb and spice from the wholebunch batches. The palate is well balanced, with moreish acidity, a dry and savoury finish, with some well matured tannin from the extended maceration. Winery note
