Mount Pleasant Maurice O'Shea Shiraz 2018
$320
I was asked to guess the fruit source for this wine, and I pretty much got it right. That?s an introduction Campbell would NEVER write. Anyway, 1880 vines, with a mix of Rosehill 1946 and 1965 making up the other half. O?Shea is now the wine it always should have been. Thank you. Boysenberry, red fruits, earthy, perfumed, aniseed/flowing basil and rose perfume. Medium-bodied, crunchy and energetic, the acidity so bright yet calm, supple but kind of coal dust tannin, coolness, grip and supreme length on the finish. Tightly knit, lithe, and bounding into the future with supreme confidence and optimism. Magnificent. Drink 2023-2040+. 97+ points. ? Gary Walsh, Wine Front.
