Meo-Camuzet Corton 'Clos Rognet' Grand Cru 2023
Picked 5th September. Concentrated purple. Reticent bouquet. This is rather lusher in the fruit up front but still entirely red berries rather than black, with a classy texture on top of a well-defined backbone. Little red fruits picked at perfect ripeness. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted Nov 2024. Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy – Nov 2024 Drink: 2032 – 2040 93-96 Points
Generous wood and menthol nuances stop short of overshadowing the overtly spicy and ripe aromas of most the essence of red berries along with ample earth. The caressing, mouthcoating and utterly seductive larger-bodied flavors possess noticeably better mid-palate density before terminating in a firm, powerful and very serious finale that does exhibit a touch of warmth but overall, much better balance.
