Lucien Le Moine Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru 2017
Dad and I drank a bottle of this in March 2022 and the wine looked incredibly good. Decanted 3 hours before serving, it seemed to blossom with plenty of oxygen. Drunk alongside some other pretty smart wines (Coche-Dury Meursault 2017, Armand Rousseau Clos Saint Jacques 2007 and Robert Groffier Chambertin Clos de Beze 2015) the Latriciers Chambertin did more than hold its own. A distinct spice profile runs through the wine which holds a lot of density but at the same time projects a sense of openess and bouncy/liveliness. Wet leaf and autumnal tones sit below layers of red fruit which have a slightly untamed nature to them. It's a wine that is alive and roaring with power, yet delivers its flavours in a calm and controlled manner. This easily has 20 years ahead of it, but looks great already, just give it plenty of air. - Ches Cook, FWC.
Soft reduction and wood serve as a pungent introduction to the sleek, mineral-driven and well-detailed medium weight flavors that possess a refined if muscular mouth feel, all wrapped in a youthfully austere, linear and sneaky long finish. 91-93 points. - Burghound.
