Little Giant Grenache 2022

When The Winefront first started, 20 years ago now, I won’t say that I used to dread tasting McLaren Vale grenache but, in general, I didn’t look forward to it. Now I jump at every McLaren Vale grenache sample. We’ve come a long way, baby.

This isn’t a great example of McLaren Vale grenache and yet it’s a joy to drink. It’s modern. It has flavour but it feels light on its feet. It’s perfumed. It has sandy/spicy notes. It’s both red cherried and raspberried. It’s both sweet and savoury. And it’s good value. In short, it’s recommended. Drink 2023-2026+. 90+ Points. Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
