Coriole Estate Shiraz 2023

Mainly from vines around 50 years old, and all estate fruit on terra rossa soils. A little less new oak this year (20%) but same élevage at 18 months. The cooler year has presented a finer, more fragrant offering, with wild red berries and cherries, dried herbs and subtle earthy complexity. It’s a very charming wine, more to medium weight, that bears the current-day Coriole stamp of light-handed making, framing fruit and vintage.  92 points, drink 2024-2030, Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion.
