MMAD Have Hit the Ground Running

MMAD is a single vineyard located in the dress-circle of Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. It's the new project for Michael Hill Smith MW, Martin Shaw, David LeMire MW and Adam Wadewitz - the team behind Tolpuddle and Shaw + Smith. The site is made up of plantings to Chenin Blanc (dating back to 1964), Grenache (1939) and Shiraz (1942). Soils are sand over ironstone. The vineyard was purchased in the leadup to the 2021 vintage, thus this is the first release for these wines. Somewhat fortuitously, 2021 turned out to be a knock-out vintage across much of South Australia, and certainly McLaren Vale. The team have hit the ground running...
