Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo 2021
I have been tasting (and drinking) quite a lot of new release Langhe Nebbiolo from the 2021 vintage and I am very impressed with the quality. It bodes well from the Barolo vintage in another two years. If you have not tried any as yet, they are super Barolo replacements for earlier drinking. I know this is a Massolino offer yet I must suggest trying other Langhe Nebbiolo’s from 2021: Vajra, Conterno Fantino, Cascina Delle Rose, Chiara Boschis, Giovanni Canonica & Marcarini Lasarin. The Massolino is pale brick red in colour, beautiful red dusty rose petal nose, with a touch of spice and almond. Bright red cherry fruit giving the perfect dash of succulence. It’s vibrant, chalky and dusty and oh so immediately drinkable. WOW ! Don’t miss this for now! Ian Cook FWC.
Cherry, red fruit, a little almond, light spice, a touch floral with some aniseed. Medium-bodied, fresh red fruits, understated, lively, a little new leather, and a bright finish of good length, with some chalky grip following. Charming. A little bit frisky. Good drinking. 91+ Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
