Marina Coppi 'Francesca' Timorasso 2024
A more understated unoaked take on Timorasso, with orchard fruit, pear, lemon peel, sage and chamomile all coming through in a gentle, seamless way. The palate is relaxed, textural, with soft floral notes and finishing with a clean, mineral edge. It’s elegant, subtle, and really shows off the grape’s natural alpine‑herbal vibe.
Importer note
Fausto Coppi, Italy’s most celebrated cyclist — five‑time Giro d’Italia champion, two‑time Tour de France winner, first purchased a small vineyard in Castellania, a quiet village in the Colli Tortonesi of Piedmont. Decades later, his grandson Francesco Bellocchio returned to this same 4.5‑hectare plot, driven by a determination that clearly runs in the family. Fausto's legacy, discipline, ambition, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, became the foundation of the estate.
Francesco studied winemaking, convinced his wife Anna to join him, and in 2003 they founded Vigne Marina Coppi, named in honour of his mother Marina, while the flagship Timorasso pays tribute to Fausto himself. Today they farm around 8 hectares, working as close to nature as possible in this beautiful corner of Piemonte.
The estate is best known for its benchmark Timorasso and for being a Barbera specialist, producing wines that combine precision, purity, and a deep sense of place.
