Marco De Bartoli 'Vigna la Miccia' Marsala Oro Superiore 2020 500ml
Quite simply, Marco De Bartoli makes the best Marsala there is. The most brilliant minds are always ahead of their time…
100% Grillo. Aged in French oak for 4 years with continual topping up, fortified to 18% ABV. An innovative semi-dry marsala, Vigna La Miccia, was born in 1985. It offers all the personality of a Marsala in a more subtle, elegant version. Gold with a copper hue, this absolutely jumps out of the glass with dried raisins and green walnuts leading the charge. It absolutely sings with energy as like all great fortified wines of the wine it has the acidity to balance the residual sugar, in this case 54 grams which the estate classifies as semi-dry. On the palate and finish there’s lovely walnut and ground coffee notes. I could still taste the wine 10 minutes later, absolutely delicious. Cameron Roebuck, FWC.
