Marcarini Barolo La Serra 2005
$430
The 2005 Barolo La Serra opens with high-toned, floral aromas that lead to bright red fruits, sweet spices, mint and licorice. The tannins are somewhat firm but also well balanced, while the finish is equally sublime. The La Serra remains a delicate, medium-bodied Barolo that is likely to offer its finest drinking over the next decade or so, although my sense is that well-stored bottles may continue to drink well beyond that. Drink 2009-2025. 90 Points. Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate (2009).
