The J. G. Benda 2021 Brunello di Montalcino opens with aromas of rosewood, spice and dark fruit sourced from sandstone soils near Il Greppo. A pretty, mineral note frames the bouquet but remains secondary to the ripe, primary fruit that drives the wine, and the palate leans into a mild, supple mouthfeel with finely powdery tannins. Living and expressive in character, this is a fleshed-out and well-balanced Brunello produced in a limited quantity of just 2,450 bottles.
