100% Timorasso. Rody, the importer was pretty firm on this being ‘better’ than the epic 2016, to which I said, ‘No, that is not the case’, or likely something a little more brusque/direct. Anyway, tasted the 2016 next to the 2018, and I still think the 2016 is just a little better, though that’s perhaps the benefit of a couple of years more bottle age. Importer: Ethereal Wines

Hazelnut, ripe lime, lemon verbena, brine, lemon curd, a wool jumper sulphide edge. Crisp, energetic, lime and apple, aniseed, fine chalky and stony texture, super length. Crunch and charisma. 95 points, drink to 2028, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front (tasted March 2021).
