Giacomo Boveri Derthona 'Munta l'e Ruma' 2022
Ripe pear and almond cream, green bananas, chamomile, a little mint and honey, and kind of stony and saline too. It delivers ripe and juicy pear and almond flavour, a light powdery grip to it, quite fleshy and bold, but still keeps itself pretty tight. There’s a coolness to this wine too, even though its a wine of generosity and substance, and the finish is pretty long. Nice. 93 points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
Potent, medium to fuller weight flavours and scents here. Nashi pear, ginger, pickle brine and alpine herbs with some old honey jar and lanolin notes apparent. Texture is glossy and grippy, a little almost tactile piquancy that feels like the bite of chilli without heat – through it, the pear slip and slide, green almond through the finish, more alpine herb too. Layered and complex. A wine to pause on. 93 points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
