There is striking purity and translucency to the fruit, which has an almost pinot like quality. Lifted red florals, fine tea leaf and a touch of green herbal (a bit like good cabernet franc) with a silky smooth palate that is all bright & fresh. As always, the Frappato seems to hover on the palate with a weightless, intriguing personality that is hard to fully describe with words. (only 11.5% alcohol is part way to the reason for the lightness) Even so the wine seems to build richness in the mouth & retains a crunchy acidity, that leaves a fresh, drying finish. Moreish & beguiling it will be great drinking over the next few years.  - Ian Cook FWC (previous release)
