Hurley - Mornington Peninsula
The new 2018 releases from Hurley (Mornington Peninsula) are now here and are seriously impressive. Huon Hooke seems to have had a similar experience. Very recently he reviewed his top Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noirs for vintage 2018. Hurley had three wines in the top 10 including the number one position which was awarded to the ‘Garamond’ Pinot.

Off to a cracking start with the ‘entry level’ wine in the range. Already this seems fine, detailed and very gentle across the palate. Medium bodied at most, it has a core of delicate red fruits, sap, and fantastic persistence. It is not showy at all but the quality of fruit on offer speaks for itself. Flavours span cranberry, cherry pip, aperol and pomegranate. Setting the bar high for the wines to follow…- Ches Cook, FWC.
