Burklin Wolf Forster Riesling 2022
A 50/50 blend of young vines from Grand Crus Pechstein and Jesuitengarten. Whilst the Wachenheimer village was superb, there is certainly a big step up here. Full of charm, it’s expanse is evident – more power, breadth yet also elegance. Very expressive there’s flavours of peach, green mango, melon, lime and savoury notes of white pepper and crushed rocks. Wow – just layers and layers here. A stunning wine. Jeremy Muller, FWC.
‘A stunning village wine with all the positives that we associate with dry Pfalz riesling from the generosity to the delicate spiciness. Stacks of bergamot and oolong tea character, but finely-etched rather than of the flag-waving variety. The long structured finish suggests this has very good aging potential…’ 94 points, Stuart Pigott, JS Wine Ratings, July 2023.
