Francois Millet - A Delicate Touch
We have the pleasure of offering you the 2020 vintage from Francois Millet et Fils. Francois was in Australia in May (2023) and I was lucky to join him for lunch over these wines. A man obsessed with the micro-terroirs of Burgundy, he has created wines with distinctive personality and lightness of touch. Allen Meadows is on the money with his assessment that they’re wines of ‘purity of expression and finesse.’ We have a small amount available currently.
Francois Millet Volnay ‘Les Grands Poisots’ 2020
An ultra-fresh nose combines notes of both red and dark pinot fruit, spice and a suggestion of earth. There is fine density to the delicious and vibrant middle weight flavours that conclude in a sneaky long finale where a touch of bitter pit fruit character eventually surfaces.
