Vincent Couche 'Elegance' Brut Nature NV

$145
From a grower producer down in the Côte des Bar. Staunchly biodynamic, this is a farming project that produces wine. It’s 85% pinot noir, the rest chardonnay. Lots going on in these wines. The back label clearly states it was a version disgorged in February 2019.
Tight and tart, racy and refreshing, there’s licks and whiffs of salted cashews, sea spray, preserved lemon and an unusual character that I like to call ‘ozone’ as it smells of higher profile air, if you get my drift. It’s really tasty and feels super easy to drink, has good crunch and crispness, finishes long and mouth-watering with faint nutty character hanging around too. It’s so darn pleasing, and at the price point, feels compelling. 94 points. - Mike Bennie, Wine Front.
