Jerome Prevost La Closerie Fac-Simile Rosé LC23 (Base 2023, Disgorged Sep 2025)
This rare rosé was made for the first time from the 2007 vintage. This cuvée is base 2023 with 20% reserve wines and includes 10% red wine made from the Meunier fruit of the same vineyard. To be specific, the grapes for the red wine come from a small parcel of Les Béguines that is prone to court-noué (fanleaf virus). This virus stunts vigour and gives tiny yields of concentrated bunches and berries that ripen quickly.
Cult wines don’t always live up to the hype, but this bottle always surpasses even the highest expectations—we just wish we had more to share around. The dosage this year was 2.5 g/L. This is a much more delicate release than we have experienced in the past with rose and mulberry fruit notes, a fine, chalky grip and a long, perfumed close. So pretty and fine! Serve it in Burgundy glasses with food (any salmon dish is a great idea) with your closest wine friends—and watch the sparks fly. Importer’s Note.
