Jules Desjourneys Chenas 'La Judgement Dernier' 2013

9hl/ha from 70-year-old vines. No oak. From the lower part of Chénas, therefore close to Moulin-à-Vent. Granitic soil.

Aromas of cocktail cherry, forest floor, some flint. The palate is still almost impenetrably substantial, characterised by very densely structured, fine-grained, clinging tannins. A lively acidity reinforces the impression of verticality; the final fruit is still compact and closed. A wine with a respectable, taut Burgundy-like structure.
