Collardot Puligny Montrachet Blanc 'La Rue Aux Vaches' 2022
An ever-so-slightly riper nose is composed of acacia blossom, apple and pear compote, and lemon zest is trimmed in subtle oak toast. There is fine volume and richness to the succulent and admirably concentrated medium-bodied flavors that also display good length on the citrus-tinged finale where the wood telegraphed by the nose reappears. This is also very good and a wine that should drink well young if desired. 89-91 pts, Allen Meadows, Burghound
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet La Rue aux Vaches opens in the glass with aromas of white flowers, mint, Meyer lemon and freshly baked bread, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered palate that's pure and concentrated, with lively acids and chalky structure. It's a fine new addition to the range.
Since my last visit to Domaine Thomas-Collardot, things have gotten serious. Jacqueline Collardot and her son Matthieu have fully renovated their winemaking facilities with the necessary insulation and air conditioning and all the tools to work more precisely. Winemaking continues to be classical, with fermentation and élevage in barrel, followed by three months settling in stainless steel before bottling. But the execution is that bit more finely tuned, reflected in more precise wines. William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
