Bellene Bourgogne Rouge Maison Dieu VV 2021
PRICE DROP - WAS $75 A BOTTLE. NOW $65/$58.50
The 2021 vintage is on show here where a cool growing season meant a return to the somewhat 'classic' style red burgundy of a decade or so ago. Light to medium bodied, some pomegranite and slightly tart red fruit with a nice wash of acid in tow. It's a wine of freshness and restrained primary fruit, yet still enough there to provide very pleasant drinking. - Ches Cook, FWC.
Best value red Burgundy in the shop. - Ian Cook, FWC.
A very pretty and highly expressive nose reflects notes of various red berries and plenty of earth character that can also be found on the supple, vibrant and delicious middleweight flavors that conclude in a mildly rustic if nicely persistent finale. 86-88 points, Burghound.
