We made our Tawny to ensure that the PS Marion, the nineteenth century River Murray paddle-steamer could be restored and maintained. Just as the grand vessel has many a story to tell, the Tawny has developed a pretty good history on its own. The multi-generational overall blend goes back decades. If you’ve ever visited Cellar Door you’ve been closer to the wine that will be added to the blend than you may realise. The casks sit in the rafters above. A glass or two of our Tawny remains an excellent way to sustain the conversation at the end of dinner, or to make the book you’re reading, fireside, even more riveting. And, in winter its perfect for the late-night schlock, especially while watching Ash Barty win Wimbledon, noting that, when this wine was put into barrels, Ash was playing Under-10s – The Rockford Rag
