Fabien Duveau - Saumur, Loire Valley
2025 is only just underway, yet we have had our first exciting discovery of the year. This is the first time that the wines of Fabien Duveau have entered Australia, and they land with surprisingly modest pricing considering the quality. We have just tasted through the range and thoroughly enjoyed what we were presented with. For those (like us) who seem to be drinking more and more Chenin Blanc these days, this is another producer to put on your radar.
Fabien Duveau La Hunaudieree Saumur Blanc 2023
Ripe orchard fruit aromatics with freshness and lift. Supple fresh and finely structured on the palate with medium body and bright acidity giving very good length. David Burkitt, Vintage and Vine (Australian importer).

Fabien Duveau Les Poyeux Saumur Blanc 2022
Fabien Duveau is the only producer with Chenin holdings within the Les Poyeux cru. Here the wine is concentrated and floral, showing crushed stone, graphite, lemon pith and a ripple of minerality throughout. It fizzes with energy and is remarkably alive on the palate. Ches Cook, FWC.

Fabien Duveau Saumur-Champigny 'Les Menais' 2022
Very expressive and perfumed and made in a pure juicy and early drinking style. Very fresh, aromatic and fine with lovely light texture and a hint of peppery freshness and fine gentle tannins. Super attractive now and great drinking and refreshment even in the warmer months. Bottled un-fined and unfiltered. David Burkitt, Vintage and Vine (Australian importer).

Fabien Duveau Saumur-Champigny Bourg (Cabernet Franc) 2023
Black tea, river silt, crumbly brown earth with an overlay of seductive blue fruit. The medium bodied nature of this wine, coupled with it's slurpy texture and fine tannin, make it at once approachable yet elegant and classy.
Ches Cook, FWC.
