'The Wines of Italy' Private Tasting

Our private wine tastings are one of a kind. Hosted upstairs at Five Way Cellars, our room is small and intimate, being suitable for groups of us to 12 people. Our private events are flexible and can be themed in a variety of ways. 

Five Way Cellars is perhaps best known for our extensive range (and love!) of Italian wine. Italy is the world’s largest wine producer and is home to more native grape varieties than any other country. Wine is made in all twenty regions of Italy and the style from north to south differs drastically. There is a lot to learn and a lot to taste!

In this workshop we will primarily look at wine from our three favourite Italian regions: Piedmont, Tuscany and Sicily. What makes these wines special? What are their defining features? What is the difference between Barolo and Barbaresco? What grape variety is used in Chianti Classico? What are the key villages of Piedmont? Of course, you will drink some fantastic wine over the course of the evening.

A speicfic lineup can be discussed directly with our staff to ensure you are tasting wines from producers that are of most interest to you. 

Within this package, you will try 8 wines, usually in bracket of two. There will be cheese and bread served and the tasting will go for 1.5 hours. 

As for a date, this is up to you to discuss with our staff. Please email the store and we can provide a list of options. Generally a week night works best, typically from 6.30-8pm. (Some groups like to go to dinner nearby afterwards).
