Introductory Wine Workshop
Our private wine tastings are one of a kind. Hosted upstairs at Five Way Cellars, our room is small and intimate, being suitable for groups of us to 12 people. Our private events are flexible and can be themed in a variety of ways.
Our Introductory Wine Workshop teaches you the basics of what to look for when tasting wine. You will look at things such as acidity, tannin, colour and quality markers. How does the profile of a typical Australian Riesling differ to the profile of a Chardonnay?
Here we will also look at key winemaking regions from around the world. We will taste their wines and learn what makes these regions so special, and what ‘terroir’ characteristics of those regions translate through to what is in your glass.
If booking, feel free to liase with our staff about a possible theme, or leave it broad and general which can be just as enjoyable and educational.
Within this package, you will try 8 wines, usually in bracket of two. There will be cheese and bread served and the tasting will go for 1.5 hours.
As for a date, this is up to you to discuss with our staff. Please email the store and we can provide a list of options. Generally a week night works best, typically from 6.30-8pm. (Some groups like to go to dinner nearby afterwards).
