Wilson 'DJW' Riesling 2023

Another great vintage and great value from our  friends in the Clare Valley. Ian Cook

From a vineyard in Polish Hill (River) planted in 1997. Wilson’s say no need to add any acid in 2023, but also, the choice was made not to de-acdidfy either. Both good things. To me, it indicates that the vineyard produced wines of balance.

Juicy lime, pink grapefruit, a mint/aniseed top note, plus a little exotic spice. It’s a fleshy wine of flavour and impact, and don’t mind me, but slightly peanutty, with a Thai salad sort of thing happening, which I like. It’s also chalky and quite complex and different in its delivery, with a nutty green mango finish of excellent length. I like this. Zesty. Interesting. Juicy. Rated : 94 Points Wine Front
