Willunga 100 Blind Spot Grenache 2023
Peppery notes, smattering of pencil shaving tannin and notes of redcurrant, bay leaf and slight hazelnut feel to the wine. Earthy and bright at the same time, the wine is frisky and saline, a complex swathe of moods. Will only improve with more time in bottle. Excellent bones. Mitch Milicich, FWC
Vineyard purchased in 2019. This is from one patch of 55 year old wines. Blewitt Springs. A new wine for Willunga 100. Dark fruit, ripe raspberry, menthol, dark spice, a little mint and camphor. A deeper more concentrated style, dark berries, lots of firm chamois-like tannin, bright acidity, spicy and long. Chewy and grainy on the finish. Distinctive. Quite different to the Smart and Trott wines, in that it’s a little more guttural and rugged, yet so very engaging. Excellent. 94 Pts, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
