The Wanderer 'White Label' Macclesfield Pinot Noir 2024
yarra valley,
australia
$44
A more delicate profile than the Yellinbo release. Dark fruit, earth, a dustiness and a relatively compact mouthfeel. A feeling of elegance with also a raspy fruit quality. Feels exacting and cool, ethereal leaning. A small footprint. Very fine. Very good. Mitch Milicich, FWC
From Macclesfield in the Upper Yarra Valley. Cane pruned MV6 Pinot on red volcanic soil with a Northerly aspect at 250m elevation. 100% destemmed. No crushing for retention of whole berries. Cold soak and fermentation in open fermenters. Wild ferment. Pumped over and hand plunged. Elevage in two large format seasoned French oak barrels with 11 months on lees. Winery Note.
