Primo Estate Pecorino 2023

Pecorino is a variety that Italian sommeliers around town always seem to love. It hails from Marche is central eastern Italy and came very close to extinction before a small number of growers brought it back from the brink. Now we're seeing it pop in places such as, in this case, the Adelaide Hills. This caught our attention due a burst of freshness on the nose: fennel, lemongrass, green almond, citrus oil all leap from the glass. The palate is dry with good length and again, is awash with fresh florals and precise primary fruit flavours. It's a perfect drink for the Australian summer, in our opinion. - Ches Cook, FWC.
