Les Fruits x Jean-Jacques Morel ‘Ruby’ Cinsault (Sulphur Free) 2024

Our dear Friend Jean-Jacques Morel joined us for the 2024 vintage to work alongside his son Mathieu and me. What a great vintage we had! With J-J in the cellar I couldn’t resist the chance to make a little wine with my brother. Its hard to convince a Frenchman to come out of retirement but persistence paid off and we hatched a plan for a true Vin de Soif. Brad Hickey from Brash Higgins facilitated with a tonne or Organic Cinsault picked at a cool 9.9 Baume. And so Ruby was conceived.

Soft pale pink and cherry red with ruby highlights (of course!) that sparkle in the sunlight; past Rosato and into proper light chilled red territory. The nice is a nice blend of frruit and savoury complexity. Cherry, pomegranate, watermelon and watermelon rind with cola spice, earth and a little old barrel charm. The uncomplicated palate offers all the refreshing fruit flavours of the above with a light weight frame of virtually no tannin and cooling green fruit acidity. Weighing in at just 10.5 ABV its non-stop refreshment. Winery Note
