Gembrook Hill I.J.M Pinot Noir 2025
Made to honour Andrew’s father Ian who planted the vines in 1983, the intent of the wine is to highlight vineyard and push site expression and fruit purity. Made from the oldest plantings, all destemmed fruit, only 1 barrel made. This looks sensational! Evocative floral perfume, a very fine red chalky texture washed with supple raspberry, earth and undergrowth. Very harmonious and expansive mouthfeel - this has a great feeling to it.

This presents the perfect combination of finesse and flavour, with the length to match, and is therefore an elite release. It walks towards power but keeps the mood ethereal, while the fineness of the tannin profile really shows what fineness really is. It tastes of darker cherry flavours, and orange rind, blood orange and woodsy spice, plus the just-there smell of smoke drifting in from a far-off camp. Everything here is quite perfect.
