Frankland Estate Organic Cabernet Franc 2025

It’s just called ‘Franc’ on the label, but for consistency I’m sticking with the name we have used for past vintages. MB is kind of random with that, KS and CM get a tick from the database admin (which is me, of course).

Raspberry, redcurrant, black olive rolled in herbs, dark shag tobacco, dried roses. It’s medium-bodied, a bit earthy, a fine dusty grip to tannin, balanced but soft acidity, something of a liquorice and tea thing happening, with a nutty and sooty tannin finish of excellent length. Quite Italianate in presentation, yet very much its own thing. Excellent. 94 points, drink 2026-2031, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
