Bloodwood Chardonnay 2024
BLOODWOOD - Our favourite producer from Orange in NSW
Another beautiful chardonnay from the high altitude region of Orange. It’s beautifully restrained and perfectly balanced. Love it. Stone fruit, a touch of white flowers, honey, meal and barely perceptible oak. Underlying wisps of minerality hark back to the geology of Bloodwood soil and the fact that these are the oldest vines in Orange – planted in 1983. You would swear you were drinking something in excess of $80 a bottle. But no, this is the quality you get from Bloodwood at affordable pricing. Jump on board. Ian Cook, FWC
A core of white peach and white apple flesh. Lemon balm, citrus and pomelo. A wine that always delivers a good amount of flesh – it centres the wine, oak standing in support without drawing attention. Some lovely sugared icing and shortbread finish. Acidity is leisurely and jogs along in time with the whole package. You’ll be very satisfied with the price you pay for what is delivered. 92 points, drink 2024-2030, Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion.
