Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2024
All the herbs and spices, of course, but the shells of nuts, woodsmoke, a chicory element and whispers of both black coffee and black tea, all of which swirl around sound, sure-footed cherry-berry fruit flavours. This wine is as complex as it is assured, its sinewy tannin finessed into place, its flavours cascading out through the finish. This will age beautifully, and is best consumed with at least another few years under its belt. 94 Pts, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
A complex, brooding bouquet evokes autumnal earthiness—twigs, wet soil, and savoury spice. There’s a hint of ash and peat smoke. The palate is taut and piercing, driven by focused acidity and zesty berry fruit, underpinned by fine quality oak, and earth and terracotta-like characters. Still tightly wound in its youth, this wine will flesh out beautifully with time in the bottle. Fine yet persistent tannins and a vibrant acid line draw the finish long and precise. For those eager to enjoy it young, decanting is highly recommended to reveal its depth and nuance. Wholesaler's notes.
