Alkina 'Fractures' Grenache 2025

Notes of mint, florals, raspberry and earth yet with more polish and drive than the estate wine. On the palate: acute spice and lavender imbued with fresh citrus. The tension builds through the wine with darker fruit and gravelly tannin to close. This is quite powerful, nervy and focussed - a very impressive debut release for ‘Fractures’. Mitch Milicich, FWC.
Tasted again in October this year, ‘Fractures’ is a serious Grenache. It has plenty of delicate, pretty elements but ultimately, it is a wine of tension and restrained power. It has great shape: a mid-palate austerity which I generally wouldn’t associate with Grenache. Flavours are long and drawn-out, enhanced by succulent tannin that seem to vibrate with energy. - Ches Cook, FWC.
