Moorak 'Gryn Vineyard' Pinot Noir 2022
Pale colour in the glass, very attractive perfume but with substance. Palate is medium bodied at most - lots of detail: briar, wet earth, definite spice profile. Quite complex. 100% whole bunch but gobbled up nicely. Quite serious Pinot with savouriness throughout. Great stuff - have i tasted something this good from Mount Gambier before? Unlikely. - Ches Cook, FWC.
"From Mount Gambier and the Gryn Vineyard. All the bunches are whole in the ferment with 20% new oak as seasoning. Spicy, herbal, light, fresh, bright, crunchy, crisp, revitalising red wine. I tasted it cold and at a room temp-ish temperature, both worked, though I kind of liked cold a bit more. It sits a few rungs up from a rosé in a way with red cherry, sappy plum, cranberry fruit woven through woody spices, sage leaf, brine-mineral elements on hand too – somewhat simple despite lots to say. Sleek with a fine, featherweight grip of dusty tannin. Very nice drinking, dart-like shape albeit the finish a bit more loose and open, albeit spicy and herbal again. Incredibly enjoyable. 93 points." - Mike Bennie, Wine Front.
