Ministry of Clouds Chardonnay 2022
Ministry of Clouds Chardonnay is nearly as energetic as its winemaker Bernice Ong is. Talk about purity and definition?! It’s a medium bodied wine that hums with electric acidity, is balanced by tense, white-fleshed stone fruit. There’s a pretty element, too, with jasmine and white flowers on the nose. Most impressive though is the sensation of minerality and how it intersects the acid line at all the right moments. I see plenty of this being enjoyed over the months ahead… - Ches Cook, FWC.
A pure and tightly wound wine showing the muscle and intensity of the low yielding Birdwood site, and the fragile acid line synonymous with fine, late ripening and deeply cool Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay. A shy and somewhat restrained nose exuding white flowers, green nectarine characters, and subtle hints of nougat and gingery wood spice. On the palate, a bedrock of chalky minerality supports a core of intense stone fruit, framing its lingering acidity. Winery Notes
