Bloodwood’s 40th Birthday

Over our 36 years at Five Way Cellars, we have enjoyed countless gatherings around a table with winemakers, sharing good food and drinking the fruits of their labour. We never cease to admire the all-embracing passion and skill they pour into to their craft to bring us the wines we so love to drink. And so it has been with our friends from Bloodwood in Orange. Rhonda and Stephen Doyle are this year celebrating Bloodwood’s 40th Birthday. Just recently, Prue & I had the privilege of being invited to dine with them at Charred Restaurant in Orange, to celebrate this milestone. Equally as special, was gathering around the table the following day at Bloodwood for “Lunner” (lunch/dinner!) to be wowed by Rhonda’s magnificent culinary skills and to enjoy more stunning Bloodwood wines. Two superb meals accompanied by outstanding new releases & “Best of the Best aged wines”. The 2002 Riesling, followed by 2009 Chardonnay, 1998 Cab Sauv (amazing), 2005 Maurice (still a baby) & 2008 Silk Purse all absolute highlights!
