Verget Bourgogne Blanc Grand Elevage 2017
On Special - normally $65
Classy but keenly priced white Burgundy isn’t easy to come by these days, so we should be thankful for Maison Verget. This label provides a home for declassified parcels from Guffens-Verget’s best vineyard plots. The lion’s share of this wine comes from Guffen’s Pierreclos vineyards – largely on clay soils.
" The 2017 Bourgogne Blanc Grand Élevage exhibits notes of waxy citrus rind, white flowers and freshly baked pastry. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a generous, open-knit profile and a stony finish. Drink 2018-2022"

Touch of funk. Lots of weight, stoney minerality, meal. Very good acidity. Good length, more weight than the Macon. A special for the month of September: while stocks last. Highly recommended.
