Perhaps the most vibrant, youthful and playful wine of the new releases. Also the most simple, but in the very best of ways. This is a vibrant, light-to-medium bodied red full of perfume and red fruits, some crunchy acid and the faintest touch of tannin at the back. It’s made from Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo, predominantly, but then also has small inclusions of local varieties Albarossa and Freisa, plus a dash of Pinot Noir. Whether or not the Pinot component is visible it is hard to say, but it certainly seems that way, such is the wine’s seductive mouthfeel and light touch of fruit and prettiness. Ches Cook, FWC.
