I have tasted a great many 2009s which boast aromatic flare and an approachable roundness, albeit without the prerequisite freshness and pungency that defines great Hunter semillon. Here lies the outlier. Delicious! An exceptional '09. Lemon drops, barley water, apricot pith, quince and buttered toast, the defining aroma of aged semillon. Feigns oak, but there is none. The dichotomy of lightness juxtaposed against riveting flavour intensity, riveting. This has life left, while offering imminent pleasure. Drink by 2024. 95 Points.
