Ten Minutes By Tractor 'Judd' Pinot Noir 2017
There is a lot going on here and perhaps it is my pick of the bunch. The aromatics are lifted and show rose petal and other delicate notes. The palate is a successful mix of pepper spice, jamon and other cured meats, dried raspberry and a slight chewiness to the tannin at the back (5% whole bunch was used during fermentation which is most likely the cause of this). I find the wine both complete and complex – I love it. – Ches Cook, FWC.
100% clone 115 (larger bunches and thinner skins). Pretty and red fruited with some jamon and earth in the background. The most approachable of the single vineyards – open for business now but will be even better with a handful of years under its belt. FWC.
“The cool vintage has played its part in shaping this wine no doubt, and it's certainly a fine-boned, elegant release. Aromas range from stems and undergrowth to crushed sour cherries (pips and all) and exotic woody spice. The flavours are both ripe and sappy, building gradually along the palate but essentially quite delicate, as is the light but gently persistent tannin. Drink by 2027.” 95 points - James Halliday
