Gambero Rosso's Italian White Wine of the Year for 2017
Tavignano is particularly suitable for the production of fine wines, by virtue of excellent soils and climactic conditions on the border between the provinces of Macerata and Ancona. The winery’s Verdicchios (are) ideal examples of strength, character and tangy flavour achieved without interfering with the variety. – Gambero Rosso.
A remarkable wine of equal parts freshness and complexity. This single site in the eastern district of Marche imbues Verdicchio grapes with minerality seldom seen in the variety. White peach, fresh herb, grapefruit and saltbush combine on a nose that encapsulates the best scents of both the breeziness of the sea and the cool dewiness of the mountains. Dig further and there’s more delicate aromatics of star anise and sweet marzipan. Spectacular texture, enveloping acidity and a slippery, salty twang.
