Joe made 100 dozen of Trosseau in 2019 – you could call it his first commercial vintage of this wine. As far as we know, Joe is the only person with Trousseau in bottle, although a couple of other producers have now planted the variety also. This is light in colour and reasonably light in body too, but showing some nice primary red fruit. There is a slight herbal undertow which is pretty typical of the variety, and some savoury edges – particularly towards the back-half of the wine. I like it for its slightly grippy texture, clean line of acid and aromas of red petal and underbrush. – Ches Cook, FWC.
