Sorrel Crozes-Hermitage Rouge 2016

On and off I have been shipping these wines for 20 years. When I first rocked up at Ultimo Wine Centre in 1999 I tried these wines and liked them but did not love them. Over the years they got better and better as Marc grew to understand his vineyards and abandoned herbicides and fertilisers. Stylistically, he moved away from his neighbours, relying on the purity of his fruit rather than wood and stems.

It had been a few years since I had visited, but I went to see Marc last year and tried these wines with him and I was blown away. The 2016's are amazing - Julia Harding MW rates Sorrels 2016 Greal on par with Chave! These wines are stunning, superfine Syrah and need to be tasted to be believed. - James Johnson, importer.
