Pietradolce 'Archineri' Etna Bianco 2019

The Cook family visited this outstanding producer in January 2019. What a revelation – this is my favourite Sicilian producer and favourite white from Mt Etna.  This is one amazing wine to compare to Premier Cru Chablis ! Saline with lemon, honey, yellow fruit & delicate white flowers- it's long and linear yet with graceful power and elegance. Do yourself a favour a try this wine. Ian Cook - FWC

The 2019 Etna Bianco Archineri (with 7,000 bottles produced) is a pure expression of Carricante from pre-phylloxera vines - 1`00-120 years old. The wine is made in stainless steel and you get a very pure and precise taste of the grape as a result. This was a great growing season on Etna, resulting in nicely concentrated and shapely fruit, so that simple winemaking approach is well matched to the elegance of vintage material on hand.
